Kiantama is a family-owned business operating in Kainuu, close to its raw material sources in the middle of the berry forests in Lapland. In this area there is a long and still living tradition of picking and utilizing wild berries.

The basic idea of Kiantama is that berries and the by-products of their processing can be utilized to 100%. The company is passionate about carefully processing the hand-picked wild forest berries, safeguarding the raw materials and end products as well as preserving the nutritional values and natural taste and color.

They manufacture and develop high-quality berry products and raw material for food, health supplement, and cosmetics industries. The brand Biokia is tailored for consumers. Kiantama was awarded with the highest grade for BRC global standard for food safety in June 2023. The Kiantama production is also both Kosher and Halal certified.

The challenge: How to ensure ongoing export and expand product availability?

Exports have always been the focus of the company because they were thinking big from the very beginning. Their vision is to bring their Biokia berry products to the consumer and to improve their well-being. Today, more than half of the company’s production is exported. To strengthen product availability to the widest possible customer base, Kiantama had to find a partner supporting this expansion.

The solution: Partnering with TeamBlue

Kiantama and TeamBlue had known each other for years from fairs and exhibitions. Due to the trading difficulties during the first year of COVID in 2020, both companies started to think about a cooperation. As a result, marketing and sales of Biokia products on Amazon Germany started, which has strengthened significantly since that time. Biokia berry products are among the top sellers in TeamBlue’s Amazon portfolio.

Future plans

Kiantama continue their journey to European countries by manufacturing tasty and healthy Biokia berry products. With the help of the Amazon Europa marketplace, Kiantama aims at accessing several markets simultaneously in close cooperation with TeamBlue during 2024. These include e.g. major markets like France, Italy and Spain.
